Grand Prize and 1st Place Winner: Robert E. Dawson Jr.

Category: Landscape
Location: Marietta, PA
Story Behind the Shot: Shocks Mills Bridge is a railroad bridge that crosses between the Mt. Wolf & Marietta area. The bridge has stood since 1905, however in 1972 Hurricane Agnes damaged the middle section, which was ultimately replaced. The ends of the bridge remain the same as originally constructed. We almost missed this sunset because of the long hike to the bridge, but it was worth it!

2nd Place Winner: Rita Kurtz

Category: Landscape
Location: Hummels Wharf, PA
Story Behind the Shot: While kayaking on the Susquehanna River in Hummels Wharf, I decided to go through the inlet between the islands. About halfway through I saw a deer along the shore of the island. To my surprise it decided to cross the water right in front of me. Luckily I had my camera ready to take a photo and was able to capture the image.

3rd Place Winner: Rita Kurtz

Category: Landscape
Location: Selinsgrove, PA
Story Behind the Shot:  I love to get out in the kayak and see the beauty along the Susquehanna River.

Story Behind the Shot: It was a pleasure to be a part of the re-raising of the Star Barn; a true Greenway treasure.

3rd Place Winner: Michael Sheely

Category: River Towns
Location: Columbia, PA
Story Behind the Shot: As I was headed to the Columbia River Park via RT441, I noticed the beautiful sunset casting a bright glow on the houses along the RT30E ramp. I pulled over at the top of RT441 South and snapped this pic.

1st Place Winner: Ronald Metzger

Category: Susquehanna Adventures
Location: Montgomery, PA
Story Behind the Shot: While kayaking with my brother on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River below the Montgomery bridge, he spotted a turtle that then disappeared. While he was reflecting on the scene, I photographed him from behind. When reviewing the picture, I discovered the turtle had stealthily resurfaced behind him and was also in the picture.

2nd Place Winner: George Hendershot

Category: Susquehanna Adventures
Location: Williamsport, PA
Story Behind the Shot: This was taken on my first real kayaking adventure with my wife and friend. It was a very relaxing and sunny day as we entered a small area where a sliver of the river travels around the south side of a small island. I took this photo within that area, and I was amazed when we came upon the view of the backwards C-shaped trees and its reflections when I reviewed it later. Although I was disappointed I did not have better camera gear with me that day, I was excited to have something to capture the beauty of the moment. This was the most enjoyable part of that day on the Susquehanna River.

3rd Place Winner: Emily Hontz

Category: Susquehanna Adventures
Location: Williamsport, PA
Story Behind the Shot: Always a summer favorite – our family enjoys taking a trip on the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat. On this particular evening, we enjoyed a dinner cruise. My son, Asher (pictured), loved watching the wheel turn and seeing all the sights along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
