River from Above

1st Place & Grand Prize Winner: Shawn Grenninger

Category: River from Above
Location: Hyner, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “I arrived to Hyner View in the dark for sunrise and took advantage to take some night shots and decided to use my flashlight to create a beam as I stood on the hang glider launch overlooking the view and low hanging fog over the susquehanna river.”

2nd Place Winner: Tony Ragusea

Category: River from Above
Location: Lewisburg, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “The surface of the Susquehanna froze solid in 2026 for the first time in many years. The only exposed water in this image is at the bottom, where a flock of geese can be seen gathered around a hole in the ice to access food and water.”

3rd Place Winner: Anthony Durso

Category: River from Above
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “A cold, windy day in February along the Susquehanna River. The snow dusted tracks of the Rockville Bridge, as dark clouds drifted overhead and rays of sunlight breaking through to remind us that even winter has its moments of warmth.”

Greenway in Motion

1st Place Winner: Gary Devonshire

Category: Greenway in Motion
Location: Columbia, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “A climb to the top…. a rock climber midway up the face of Chickies Rock along the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail and the Susquehanna River.”

2nd Place Winner: Shawn Grenninger

Category: Greenway in Motion
Location: Williamsport, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “Taking a moment while paddling boarding the river to stop, relax and enjoy the surrounding area during an evening outing, I made a brief stop at the old railroad bridge ruins to capture the moment.”

3rd Place Winner: Tony Ragusea

Category: Greenway in Motion
Location: Lewisburg, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “People are often on the Susquehanna but typically boating, not skating! The ice was so thick in February of 2026 that it was possible to skate from one side to the other. Skating on river ice is risky and not recommended, though, because if you fall through the flowing water may drag you under before you have a chance to climb out. This skater was not harmed, fortunately.”

Hidden Details

1st Place Winner: Rita Scholl

Category: Hidden Details
Location: Selinsgrove, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “When I took this photo I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of dandelions everywhere. Most people think they are just a weed and want to get rid of them in their lawn, but they are good for the bees in the spring. I like to capture their beauty in water drops.”

2nd Place Winner: Travis Neyhart

Category: Hidden Details
Location: Williamsport, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “Here we have an Emerald Jumping Spider. Jumping spiders are well known for their curiosity and photogenic nature. I even put my hand out and it jump on it, rappelling down on its web and climbing back up to do it again!”

3rd Place Winner: Corey Bires

Category: Hidden Details
Location: Falmouth, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “Exploring the Falmouth potholes (aka Conewago Falls) is both fun & fascinating, whether from kayak or just hiking along the shoreline. This glacial deposit area is one of the most unique areas in all of PA!”

Wild & Free

1st Place Winner: Jeffrey Solomon

Category: Wild & Free
Location: Sunbury, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “I had been photographing this Great Blue Heron doing some fishing when it decided to “take wing” at the Adam T. Bower Memorial Dam.”

2nd Place Winner: Bruce Walkovich

Category: Wild & Free
Location: Karthaus, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “This bull was late to the party. A large herd of elk cows were grazing in an open field, with a number of bulls attempting to challenge for breeding rights. This bull came out of the bottom cover looking for a fight.”

3rd Place Winner: Edie Cox

Category: Wild & Free
Location: Mt Joy, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “Life‘s a hoot! Each year, a hollow in a tall sycamore tree at Little Chiques Park draws photographers and visitors, eager to see Great Horned Owlets. Covered in soft white down, the young owlets grow quickly and are ready to fledge in just 9 to 10 weeks. This owlet, perched on the edge of the hollow, appears old enough to take flight… but is it preparing for freedom on this day or simply entertaining the crowd? Regardless, he’s giving us something to hoot about!”

People’s Choice

1st Place Winner: Bruce Walkovich

Category: People’s Choice
Location: Karthaus, PA
Story Behind the Shot:“”Above the Clouds” Found this elk on the edge of a steep ridge overlooking the West Branch with the early morning fog blanketing the valley below.”

2nd Place Winner: John Reitzel

Category: People’s Choice
Location: Columbia, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “I was taking pictures of my daughter’s engagement at Breezyview Overlook and I heard an Indigo Bunting in the area. I went back the next morning with a longer lens hoping to see it again, and sure enough, it was posing for me on this Flowering Locust tree.”

3rd Place Winner: Cody Corsello

Category: People’s Choice
Location: New Cumberland, PA
Story Behind the Shot: “Each spring, we look forward to the return of the ruby-throated hummingbirds to our backyard. My wife plants flowers especially for them, creating a small habitat where we can watch and photograph these remarkable visitors throughout the summer.”
