Paddler's Toolkit: Tunkhannock
The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) is collaborating with Pennsylvania Master Naturalist (PMN) to provide an introductory experience on everything you need to paddle like a naturalist with our Paddler's Toolkit Workshop. Our first session of the season will be held at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock and includes lunch and a half-day paddle.

8:00 - 8:30 AM: Check-In
8:30 - 10:00 AM: Opening remarks & "Paddling the Susquehanna Presentation" by SGP
- The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership will explore the ins and outs of paddling. Topics such as gear selection, navigation, trip planning and packing, permits, on-water safety, minimal impact practices, and more will be covered.
10:00 - 10:15 AM: Break
10:15 - 11:30 AM: "Everyday Naturalist Presentation" by PMN
- Pennsylvania Master Naturalist will present on flora and fauna identification, geology, history, and stewardship practices to help enhance your paddling experience and turn you into an everyday naturalist.
11:30 - 12:15 PM: Lunch and Shuttle to Tunkhannock Riverside Park Access
12:15 - 12:30 PM: Paddling remarks; safety discussion
12:30 - 3:30 PM: Launch from Tunkhannock Riverside Park Access
- We will be paddling from the Tunkhannock Riverside Park Access in Tunkhannock, PA to the Whites Ferry Access located 7 miles downstream. This ~7-mile route is classified as class-I moving water.
3:30 - 4:00 PM: Transition off water
