The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership is looking for engaged community leaders who want to help shape the future of outdoor recreation, trails, river access, and connected communities across Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna Greenway.

As we continue to grow and strengthen our organization, we’re particularly interested in individuals with professional or community experience in:
- Law — especially nonprofit, employment, environmental, land use, or contract law
- Finance & Accounting — including nonprofit financial management, budgeting, or CPA experience
- Nonprofit Governance & Policy — board leadership, organizational development, strategic planning, or policy development
- Fundraising & Philanthropy — donor development, corporate sponsorships, or foundation relations
- Community & Economic Development — particularly experience working with river towns and local communities
- Government & Public Policy — municipal, county, state, or public-sector experience
- Accessibility & Inclusion — experience advancing accessible recreation and community spaces
- Planning, Conservation & Land Management — including planning, landscape architecture, conservation, or trail development
- Business & Organizational Leadership — entrepreneurship, management, or other leadership experience
Geographic representation matters, too. We’re especially interested in candidates who live in counties along the Susquehanna Greenway outside of Lycoming County, where our current Board representation is full. A map of the Greenway corridor can be found at susquehannagreenway.org/map.
You don’t have to be an expert in trails or rivers. We’re looking for thoughtful, committed people who bring different perspectives, professional expertise, and a genuine interest in helping communities connect with the Susquehanna River and the outdoors.
What does Board service look like?
Board members serve three-year terms, with the option to serve up to three consecutive terms. The Board meets virtually once a month, with some meetings held in person throughout the year. Board members also have opportunities to get involved in SGP events and activities in person.
