Description
The Bloomsburg Area Recreational Trail (BART) is a 2.2-mile walking and biking path in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. It is a paved, flat path suitable for all experience levels. There are two trail heads on either side of Fort McClure Boulevard and the trail runs east to west, paralleling the road. Leashed dog walking is permissible in the dog park and on the path, but not in the nearby town park. The North Branch of the Susquehanna River is visible from the trail. (Accessing the river is only permissible from the designated PFBC or Municipal Accesses.) Wooden fencing that separates the trail from the riverbank is not present in all sections, so it is best to use caution when walking/biking in the grassy areas nearby. Permanent signage along the trail denotes progress every 1/2 mile.
Parking and Trail Access
The trail is accessible from one trail head near Rupert Covered Bridge, another trailhead in between the dog park and the Norris E. Rock Memorial Swimming pool (Catherine St), and at all points along the main stretch of Fort McClure Boulevard. The best available parking spaces are in between the Bloomsburg Little League Fields and “Totsburg” park. Additional parking can be located on Market St adjacent to the disc golf course.
