Description:

Join SGP, PA Master Naturalist, and the Lycoming Audubon Society for a guided bird walk at the Robert Porter Allen Natural Area this Earth Day!

Tucked along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, the site protects floodplain forest, wetlands, and river habitats that provide important nesting and migratory stopover areas for a wide variety of bird species. The natural area is named in honor of Robert Porter Allen, a pioneering conservationist whose work helped protect several endangered bird species and advanced modern wildlife conservation efforts.

Celebrate Earth Day by getting outdoors, learning to identify local and migratory birds, and exploring one of our region’s special riverfront landscapes with knowledgeable local guides from the Lycoming Audubon Society.
