PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR)
DCNR is responsible for maintaining and preserving the state’s 124 state parks and 20 state forests, providing information on the state’s natural resources, and working with communities to benefit local recreation and natural areas.
PA Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC)
The mission of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is: to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities.
PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
PennDOT oversees programs and policies affecting highways, urban and rural public transportation, airports, railroads, ports, and waterways.
PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED)
The Department of Community and Economic Development’s mission is to encourage the shared prosperity of all Pennsylvanians by supporting good stewardship and sustainable development initiatives across our commonwealth.
Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds & Rivers (POWR)
POWR provides the tools, training, education and resources that empower community watershed organization leaders and volunteers to protect and restore rivers and streams, advocate for sound water resource management and policies, and facilitate stewardship and enjoyment of Pennsylvania’s waterways.
Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC)
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) protects and restores the natural and built environments through innovation, collaboration, education and advocacy. PEC believes in the value of partnerships with the private sector, government, communities and individuals to improve the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians.
The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The National Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.
Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR)
The Endless Mountains Heritage Region was established in 1998 as a non-profit, membership-based organization within the PA Heritage Areas Program. It is one of 12 current heritage areas across the Commonwealth, which are designated by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). EMHR is also the water trail manager for the North Branch of the Susquehanna River.
Susquehanna National Heritage Area (SNHA)
Susquehanna National Heritage Area is a regional non-profit organization and Congressionally-designated coordinating entity for America’s 55th National Heritage Area. Their work focuses on the cultural and natural resources of the Susquehanna River and the ribbon of scenic and historic landscapes and communities along its shores. SNHA is also the water trail manager for the Lower Section of the Susquehanna River.
Susquehanna River Trail Association (SRTA)
The SRTA is an all-volunteer organization that promotes sustainable use of the river and the continued stewardship of the river and surrounding watersheds in partnership with private individuals, environmental and recreational organizations, and government agencies. SRTA is the water trail manager for the Middle Section of the Susquehanna River and is also responsible for the public campsites of the river islands along it.
The Lumber Heritage Region is a 15-county region in Northwest/North Central Pennsylvania that accentuates the importance of the lumber industry for the past, present, and future. The goal of the heritage region is to market its assets to potential visitors, to serve as a resource to the PA hardwood industry, and to keep the economic impact of the region in the forefront.

North Central Pennsylvania Conservancy
The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (NPC) is a land trust devoted to conserving and enhancing the lands and waters of Northcentral Pennsylvania to support the environmental well-being and recreational needs of local communities.
Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association
The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015. MSRKA protects and promotes the Susquehanna River, its tributaries, and the aquatic ecosystem it supports across an 11,000-square-mile watershed represented as the Middle Susquehanna river basin.
WeConservePA helps people care for, wisely use, and enjoy what nature offers. They help organizations and individuals to effectively and efficiently conserve land, protect and restore waterways, implement sustainable practices, and connect people to the outdoors. They foster understanding of conservation and advocate for pro-conservation governmental policy to promote a high quality of life for all.
Lewisburg Neighborhoods Association
Lewisburg Neighborhoods exists to promote cooperative efforts between neighborhood residents, the Bucknell University community, and Lewisburg Borough. They seek to improve civic engagement, preserve natural settings and streetscapes, strengthen ties among neighbors, and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The Merrill W. Linn Land & Waterways Conservancy
Since its founding, the Merrill W. Linn Land & Waterways Conservancy has protected woodlands, agricultural lands, streams and wetlands. They maintain four trails for public enjoyment. These efforts are complemented by a very strong focus on public engagement.
Lancaster Conservancy is an accredited nonprofit land trust that protects and restores natural lands for future generations. Since their founding in 1969, the Conservancy has saved over 10,000 acres of land to protect the ecosystems and landscapes upon which we depend for food, clean water, clean air, economic and public health, and the restoration of the soul and spirit.
Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau
The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau promotes the region of the Susquehanna River Valley as it pertains to Union, Northumberland, and Synder counties.
Columbia-Montour Visitors Bureau
Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau promotes the vibrant, sustainable communities, accommodations, and activities in Columbia and Montour counties.
Clinton County Economic Partnership & Visitor’s Bureau
The Clinton County Economic Partnership brings under one roof, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism/Visitors Bureau, and Commercial and Industrial Development activities in Clinton County. A private, nonprofit organization, the Partnership is a member-based entity that facilitates economic growth and provides meaningful, informative programs and networking opportunities for its members.
Visit Clearfield County is dedicated to enhancing the local economy by increasing tourism throughout Clearfield County.
The “Good for You” mission is inspired by the belief that local parks and recreation improve the lives of Pennsylvanians. This entity serves a statewide advocacy channel for the essential and irreplaceable nature of local parks & recreation in Pennsylvania’s communities.
