The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership is encouraging schools, educators, libraries, camps, and after school programs across Pennsylvania to take advantage of a limited-time opportunity to receive free copies of the Susquehanna Greenway Adventure Book for educational use.
Packed with puzzles, games, safety tips, fun facts, and interactive pages, the Susquehanna Greenway Adventure Book encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about nature, stewardship, and the importance of our river environments. The booklet features activities focused on river ecology, hiking and paddling safety, wildlife, and Leave No Trace principles, alongside appearances by the Mighty Mussel — SGP’s clean water champion.
The Adventure Book includes:
- A fold-out map of the Susquehanna Greenway
- A full sticker sheet
- Interactive activities and outdoor challenges
- Educational content centered on conservation and recreation
- Family-friendly ways to explore local parks, trails, and waterways

“We know that hands-on, engaging educational tools can make a lasting impact on how young people connect with the outdoors,” said Alana Jajko, Interim Executive Director of the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership. “By making these books available free of charge, we hope to help educators inspire curiosity, stewardship, and a lifelong appreciation for the Susquehanna River and the natural spaces that surround it.”
About the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership:
The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership works with local, state, and national partners to advance outdoor recreation, conservation, and community connections along the Susquehanna River corridor. Through trail development, river access improvements, educational programming, and regional partnerships, SGP helps connect people to the outdoors and the communities that call the river home.
Thank you to Our Supporters:
The Susquehanna Greenway Adventure Book was made possible in part by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, using Environmental Stewardship Funds, under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. The distribution of the booklet was made available at no cost to educators, schools, and after school programs thanks to a grant from Constellation.
