Paddler's Toolkit FAQ

Q. What is included in the registration cost?

  • The price of the ticket includes the two virtual presentations and half-day paddle, as well as access to training materials and the cost of the shuttle.

Q. Can I register for part of the event, but not the whole thing?

  • The ticket price is fixed, but you will have the option to register for only the presentations and donate the cost of the paddle. As the paddle is a chance to practice skills learned in the presentation, you may not register for only the paddle.

Q. Can I sign up if I'm already an experienced paddler?

  • Absolutely! We welcome paddlers of all experience levels. This program offers a range of topics that even the most experienced paddlers will find useful in enhancing their everyday experiences on the water trail.

Q. Will the presentations be recorded?

  • The presentations will be recorded and made available for a month after the event. These recordings will feature closed captioning and transcripts. Printouts of the presentation slides will also be distributed to event attendees.

Q. Can I bring my kids?

  • This event is open to all those 12 and older, as children under that age may not pilot their own watercraft.

Q. Do I need my own kayak?

  • Yes, attendees are required to provide their own boat. SGP is available to provide outfitter suggestions.

Q. Do I need to register my boat?

  • Pennsylvania Boat Launch permits are encouraged, but not required for this event.

Q. Will there be a shuttle?

  • Yes! SGP will provide a shuttle on the day of the paddle.

  • If it is cold and rainy, NO COTTON. If an article of clothing says it is fleece (like a sweatshirt) make sure the fleece is polyester.

Q. Will lunch be provided?

  • No, we will not be providing lunch on the day of the paddle.
