Q. Can I rent a bike?

Q. What about check-in and shuttles?

  • All participants will need to check-in at the Williamsport Community Park on Saturday morning. All individuals and their bikes will then be shuttled up to Indian Park in Montoursville. 
  • Please note: If you prefer to handle your own equipment, you are also welcome to drop off your bike at Indian Park prior to or after registration. 

Q. What's the address/route?

  • Our starting location for registration/check-in, and the end of the bike route is at the South Williamsport Community Park
  • The starting point for the bike ride is at Indian Park in Montoursville, PA

  • Most of the route is level bike path, with a few short inclines along the way. Safety assistance will be stationed at any street crossings. Please ride single file across the Maynard Street Bridge. 

Q. Can I bring my kids?

  • This is a family-friendly event, and children are welcome to attend. 
  • For younger children unable to bike the entire 10.5 miles, there will be a children's ride and bike rodeo at the South Williamsport Park. 

Q. What is the youth ride & skills rodeo?

  • The youth ride & skills rodeo is a 1-mile loop ride around the South Williamsport Community Park, which begins at 11:00 AM with some safety and skills tips for younger children. The ride is recommended for children under 8 years of age. No training wheels; scoot bikes not recommended. 

Q. Will there be food?

  • A frozen treat from Aaron's Water Ice is included with each ticket. 
  • Participants may also purchase a $10 barbeque dinner with their ticket, provided by the South Williamsport Lions Club after the ride.  

Q. Is there a rain date?

  • Rain - the event will continue as scheduled for rain alone
  • Thunder & Lightning - the event will be postponed by 30 minutes for instances of lightning closer than 6 miles at 9:30 AM (per the flash-to-bang method). If the lightning continues to be within 6 miles at 10:00 AM, then the event planning committee will discuss alterations to the schedule or cancel the event. 
  • High Winds - if winds exceed the event’s threshold for safe activity, then the event will be cancelled. 
  • Tornado Warning -the event will be cancelled. 
  • All other ‘Acts of God’ will result in the cancellation of the event. 

Q. What should I bring?

  • If it is cold and rainy, NO COTTON.
  • If an article of clothing says it is fleece (like a sweatshirt) make sure the fleece is polyester.
  • Please wear appropriate footwear for biking. 
  • Athletic-type/quick-drying apparel is recommended, and consider bringing a backpack or hydration pack, and snacks.
