Description
The Darlington Trail runs from the junction of the Appalachian and Tuscarora Trails at its western end to Tower Road at its eastern end. The entire route is located within State Game Lands 170 and is marked with orange blazes. The trail varies from a narrow footpath to wooded roads, with some rocky portions of the trail. Volunteer members of the Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club in Harrisburg maintain the trail.
The orange blazes make this route a straightforward and easy to follow trail, however watch out for an intermittent stream crossing in Bryson Hollow. The stream can normally be crossed, but be aware of high runoff events in which it is unpassable. Visitors during the late fall/winter can see beautiful views of the valleys on either side of Blue Mountain through the bare trees. The Darlington Shelter is a notable feature that can be accessed via the eastern portion of the trail near the intersection with the Appalachian Trail and features a restroom and bunk beds for weary travelers.

Parking and Trail Access:
The trail can be accessed near two parking areas. The first is off Lambs Gap Road, and can be accessed by taking PA-850 W off US-15. Take a left onto Lambs Gap Road, and after passing the intersection with Idle Road, turn left into the parking area. From the south take Interstate 81 north to exit 61 and turn onto Wertzville Road West. Turn right onto Lambs Gap Road and continue until you reach the parking area near the trailhead.
The second parking area can be accessed by taking Interstate 81 north to exit 61 and turning onto Wertzville Road West. Turn onto Millers Gap Road and continue to the parking area (will be on your left). The parking area can be accessed from the North off PA-850 W and turning left onto Millers Gap Road.
