About the Park
The 170-acre Chestnut Grove Natural Area was established in 2015 by the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA). The area’s network of 13 trails showcases different features of the property including wetlands, meadows, woods, wildlife, and views of the Susquehanna River. Interpretive panels and a wetland boardwalk at this site allow visitors to experience and learn about nature and the environment. Wildlife is also abundant with there being over 200 species of birds that have been sighted in the park.
The Chestnut Grove trail system also connects to regional trail systems such as the Turkey Hill Trail and the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail. Click here for a map of all the connecting trails within the park.
