2020 River Town Cleanup Week

For the past two years, our Williamsport Community Cleanup has been such a success that two more SGP river towns are joining in on the action! 

This year, April 22nd marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Throughout the week the river town communities of Willliamsport, Lock Haven, and Lewisburg will be holding cleanups to celebrate. Look for updates this Spring on specific cleanup dates. We are so excited to help keep our river towns clean and beautiful!


DATES:

Williamsport: Saturday April 18th- Sunday April 26th

  • Organizations from across the city will participate in the week-long cleanup. 
  • The SGP-led cleanup will take place along the South Williamsport River Walk on Sunday, April 26th.

Lock Haven:

  • Wednesday, April 22nd 3:30 PM-6:30 PM - Lock Haven Downtown Inc. will be leading a cleanup of downtown Lock Haven on Earth day. Volunteers will meet at Triangle Park and split into groups to clean up the town. Please pre-register by 4/17 at www.lockhaven.org. or call (570) 748-1576. 

Lewisburg:

  • Saturday, April 18th; Lewisburg Neighborhoods will be leading a Tree Planting, Park Dedication, and Cleanup at the Lewisburg Landing (Saint George Street river access).
