Where do we need boat ramps or fishing piers? Places to swim, or bird watch?
The National Park Service and a team of local and state government partners welcome your suggestions for new public access to the Chesapeake Bay and to the rivers. NPS developed a web-based tool so you can share your ideas on an interactive map. The mapping tool will be available for use November 1, 2013 through December 1, 2013.
The map is already populated with known points of existing public access as well as your previously submitted suggestions for new opportunities. Roughly 300 of these were marked by you during the open period in June/July 2011 as well as December 2012. With this third open session throughout November 2013, we hope to gather new suggestions you may have. Using the web tool, you can search for specific places; view a street or aerial map; and, mark places where new access could be built.
