Study to Survey River Users

August 20, 2012

On behalf of the PA Water Trails Partnership, the
Legislative Budget and Finance Committee has hired ICF Macro, Inc. to undertake the “Study of the Economic Impact of Pennsylvania’s Recreational Water Trails”.

An economic impact analysis of recreational water trails will help to guide the future of the PA Water Trails Program, which the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) manages with the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, the PA Fish & Boat Commission and the National Park Service, and future investments in water trails and local communities.

For more information about PA Water Trails please visit the PA Fish and Boat Commission web site www.fishandboat.com and www.pawatertrails.org.

Through the month of August interviewers will be located at boat access points on four water trails throughout the Commonwealth surveying water trail users.  The water trails included in the study are the Three Rivers Water Trail, Juniata River Water Trail, Susquehanna River Water Trail – North Branch and Schuylkill River Water Trail.

If you come across an interviewer please take a few minutes to talk to them.  It will benefit our water trails program!
