Complete a simple, online nomination form by Monday, August 6.
In rural and urban areas alike, trees are one of our greatest allies in reducing pollution, providing wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, and a host of other benefits. With 100 acres of the region´s forest lost to development each day, the need for local champions of trees and forests has never been greater!
To help promote the importance of forests and celebrate those who work hard to conserve them, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, the U.S. Forest Service and partners launched this new, annual contest to recognize Forest Champions throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Winners will be recognized at the annual Chesapeake Watershed Forum on September 28-30, 2012, in Shepherdstown, WV (fees for registration and accommodation will be waived for Champions).
Again, nominations are due this Monday, August 6.
