Danville Installs New Interpretive Signs

Danville's rich river history is now on display, as three new interpretive panels have been installed in three different community park spaces!

Made possible by a grant from the Columbia-Montour Visitors Bureau, the project involved local history buffs working with the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership to illustrate the town's unique relationship with the river and promote heritage and tourism in the area. The signs describe the Hard Coal Navy that dredged coal from the river bottom near Danville, the River Bridge history, and the history and influence of the North Branch Canal.
